Stock Market : Stock Market वह जगह होती हैं जहाँ पर Shares, Debentures, Mutual Funds, Derivatives और अन्य Securities (प्रतिभूतियों) को ख़रीदा और बेचा जाता हैं| Shares को मुख्य रूप से Stock Exchange के माध्यम से ख़रीदा और बेचा जाता हैं और भारत में BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) और NSE (National Stock Exchange)  दो मुख्य Stock Exchange हैं|
What is Shares : Share का अर्थ होता हैं -“हिस्सा” और स्टॉक मार्केट की भाषा में “शेयर” का मतलब हैं – “कंपनियों में हिस्सा”| जब आप किसी कंपनी के शेयर खरीदते हैं तो कंपनी के हिस्सेदार बन जाते हैं| उदाहरण के लिए अगर किसी कंपनी ने कुल 1 लाख शेयर Issue किये हैं और आपने उसमें से 10 हजार Shares खरीद लिए हैं तो आप उस कंपनी के 10% हिस्सेदार बन जाते हैं| आप जब चाहें तब इन शेयर्स को स्टॉक मार्केट में बेच सकते हैं|
How Share Market Works
सर्वप्रथम कंपनियां अपने शेयर्स की  स्टॉक एक्सचेंज में लिस्टिंग करवाकर IPO (Initial Public Offering) लाती है और अपने शेयर्स स्वंय द्वारा निर्धारित किये हुए मूल्य पर Public को Issue करती हैं| एक बार IPO पूरा हो जाने के बाद Shares, Market में आ जाते हैं और स्टॉक एक्सचेंज और ब्रोकर्स के माध्यम से निवेशकों द्वारा आपस में ख़रीदे और बेचे जाते हैं
Sensex और Nifty
Sensex बोम्बे स्टॉक एक्सचेंज का सूचकांक (Index) हैं और Sensex का निर्धारण BSE में लिस्टेड टॉप 30 कंपनियों के मार्केट कैपिटलाइजेशन (कंपनीयों का कुल मूल्य) के आधार पर किया जाता हैं|Sensex BSE की टॉप 30 कंपनियों के प्रदर्शन को प्रदर्शित करता हैं|अगर सेंसेक्स बढ़ता हैं तो इसका मतलब हैं कि BSE में रजिस्टर्ड अधिकांश कंपनियों ने अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया हैं और इसी तरह अगर सेंसेक्स गिरता हैं तो इसका मतलब यह हैं कि अधिकांश कंपनियों का प्रदर्शन ख़राब रहा हैं|


Nifty नेशनल स्टॉक एक्सचेंज का सूचकांक (Index) हैं और इसका निर्धारण NSE में लिस्टेड टॉप 50 कंपनियों के के मार्केट कैपिटलाइजेशन (कंपनीयों का कुल मूल्य) आधार पर किया जाता हैं| अगर Nifty बढ़ता हैं तो इसका मतलब यह हैं कि NSE में रजिस्टर्ड कंपनियों ने अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया हैं और अगर Nifty घटता हैं तो इसका अर्थ यह हैं कि NSE की कंपनियों ने बुरा प्रदर्शन किया हैं

Oil prices fall on rising US rig count, Illinois refinery fire

US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were at $51.92 per barrel at 0144 GMT, down 80 cents, or 1.5 percent, from their last settlement. Oil prices fell by more than 1 percent on Monday as US drilling activity picked up and as a refinery fire in the US state of Illinois resulted in the shutdown of a large crude distillation unit. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were at $51.92 per barrel at 0144 GMT, down 80 cents, or 1.5 percent, from their last settlement. International Brent crude oil futures were down 71 cents, or 1.1 percent, at $61.39 a barrel. In the United States, energy firms last week increased the number of oil rigs operating for the second time in three weeks, a weekly report by Baker Hughes said on Friday. Companies added 7 oil rigs in the week to Feb. 8, bringing the total count to 854, pointing to a further rise in US crude production, which already stands at a record 11.9 million bpd. Wall Street drops, S&P 500 confirms correction

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 178.74 points, or 0.73 percent, to 24,285.95, the S&P 500 lost 17.37 points, or 0.66 percent, to 2,632.56 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 33.27 points, or 0.48 percent, to 6,938.98. US stocks closed lower in a shortened post-holiday trading session on Friday as the energy sector tumbled on continued weakness in oil prices, and the benchmark S&P 500 confirmed its second correction of 2018. The three major US indexes all fell well over 3 percent for the week, with the Dow industrial and the Nasdaq posting their biggest weekly percentage declines since March. The S&P 500 ended about 10.2 percent down from its September 20 closing record high, confirming it had entered a correction.
